The NYT Picks Up on the 'It Gets Better' Thing

Gay sex columnist Dan Savage made the front page of the NYT site today, in a piece about the Trever Project and all those 'It Gets Better' videos. Talking about what inspired him to start, Dan says he was riding the AirTrain shuttle to Kennedy airport and recalled a reader's response to his column about the suicide of Billy Lucas, and how he wasn't allowed to speak at middle schools. "I was waiting for permission that — in the era of YouTube, Twitter, Facebook — I didn’t need anymore." [NYT]
