A New Album About Saint-Laurent, and a New Musical About Dior
February 27, 2010 at 4:50 PM French singer Alain Chamfort has a new album which charts the life of Yves Saint-Laurent through song. Above, his single "A Droit de Dior," about Laurent's famous mentorship with Christian Dior. Pretty fucking gay, right?
Well, not as gay as this: Also making news, is that Malcolm McLaren is trying to get a musical off the ground about the closeted life of Dior, who was a far more reserved than his protégé, both in his designs and his personality. We'd personally like to see a time-crossing Angels in America-type piece where the ghost of Dior haunts Alexander McQueen and drives him to suicide by constantly singing French songs, but that's just us.
