Phelps Clan to Protest at Funeral of That 9-Year-Old Shot in Arizona

They hardly deserve any more attention, but the Phelps clan who make up most of the membership of the Westboro Baptist Church are heading to Tucson to protest at the funerals of federal judge John Roll and 9-year-old victim Christina Green. Clearly, according to them, this prominent tragedy is just God once again sending a message to heathens, baby-killers, and fag-lovers.

The greatest part about this story is that batshit insane Shirley Phelps-Roper tells the Phoenix New Times that she admits that Jared Loughner is likely mentally ill. Talk about the pot and kettle.

"God sent the shooter -- that guy's bat-shit crazy -- but god sent him," she says.

UPDATE: Looks like they changed their minds.
