The Hidden Cameras Perform in Sex Club

Canadian band The Hidden Cameras just did a little invite-only mini-show in Toronto's self-described "pansexual playground" called Goodhandy's. We think anything called a "pansexual playground" sounds kind of gross and Ren-Faire-ish, but we hope they had fun, and we think performances in sex clubs and bathhouses are a terrific idea, just like a Bana in NYC. Happy Bday to Gay-For-Pay Wunderkind Reese Rideout

Drag Legend Flawless Sabrina Turns 70

Photo: Homo-neuroticFor New Yorkers in the know this news may be a few weeks stale, but on September 13 drag legend Flawless Sabrina celebrated her 70th birthday at Brooklyn's Sugarland (click photo to enlarge), flanked by some young faglets in their undies and fed plenty of booze to help ease the pain of a recent hip injury.  The evening featured performances by Kevin Aviance and Sabrina's drag daughter One-Half Nelson, all while Sabrina sat perched regally on a stool.

Sabrina has been doing drag for 50 years, and was featured prominently in the 1968 drag pageant documentary The Queen, along with sometime rival, Crystal Labeija (see clip after the jump, and see Crystal's famous post-pageant meltdown here). Homo-neurotic notes that Sabrina was actually 28 when she claimed in the film to be 24, and that her apartment is a museum of drag memorabilia and artwork by Warhol and Picasso.

The Le Fag Guide to Folsom Weekend 2009

Being headquartered in San Francisco, we at Le Fag have weathered a good many Folsom Street Fairs and survived to tell the tale.  Is leather still relevant? We don't know. It's kind of like asking if drag is still relevant, and our answer would of course be Fuck Yes, but many would argue otherwise... because they're morons. In any event, Folsom is still a big gay holiday here and a moment for hard-core fetish queens to find new daddies, and for the rest of us to pull out our harnesses and leather jocks for the second time this year and play at being old-school gay.

Scooter LaForge: Our New Art Fag BFF

Following up on our exclusive news regarding what Juanita MORE! received for her birthday, we got a note from artist and t-shirt designer Scooter LaForge who designed the "Juanita More Sucks Cock" t-shirt that those two boys used as a cum rag. We were only semi-familiar with Scooter's art from his SF days, and now he lives in New York where he paints, sells t-shirts, and takes pictures of himself in funny masks with demon hands (example at right, click to enlarge). We love his work, especially two recent paintings (featured after the jump) titled "Autohulk" and "Blue Bunny." It bridges the space between cartoonish humor and high art in a way we really like, especially when it involves penises.
