We do believe we have the next "Single Ladies" YouTube spoof sensation, and it's Shakira's "She-Wolf." Please see the marvelous frame-for-frame parody above by one skwrrelhunter, who is one limber homosexual. You can also reference this spoof on Jimmy Kimmel to understand how far the trend has already reached. (via Dorothy Is Dead)
Marc Jacobs went all 80s and took inspiration from Duckie in Pretty in Pink. Band of Outsiders went nautical. Rag & Bone went with English military and Civil War-like jackets. Robert Geller dressed up hipster fashion with bright cobalt blues and flower-like bow ties. All in all, menswear's come a long way since the days of oatmeal-colored Armani suits and plain Calvin Klein ensembles. The runway shows may not be as glamorous as the ladies' end of things, but the clothes are reflecting a younger generation's fashion hyper-consciousness, with the boys wanting to look for something new and different each season just as much as the girls.
Here, a gallery of highlights from the designers mentioned above as well as from Gilded Age, Spurr, and Thom Browne.
San Francisco drag queen DJ Juanita MORE! received a number of loving tributes from her fans for her birthday a couple weeks back. Among them, this decorative bottle of semen, and a photo of two boys using a new Juanita t-shirt as a cum rag. She was equally touched by both gifts. Click to enlarge, and click over here to see the NSFW cum rag shot.
In honor of the upcoming Folsom Street Fair Weekend, we give you this charming ditty from Portland metal-punk-rap outfit Juicy Karkass. We don't think it's meant to be homoerotic, but we bet some of you pervs will get off on it nonetheless. Also, please note, there is a "Punch 'Em in the Dick" ringtone. (Hat tip: Unzipped)
Drag legend and writer Linda Simpson (whose zine My Comrade has long been one of our faves) has a new online photo novella series called "Bitches in the Sky" starring Ladyfag and Sylvia London as parodies of high powered Manhattan business women. In Linda's own words, "Bitches" was "inspired by south-of-the-border photo novella magazines, [and it] follows New York's recession-proof elite as they ruthlessly pursue power, fame and erotic thrills in a world of zillion-dollar penthouses and 50th-floor boardrooms." We think it looks effing hilarious and new episodes are released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (subscribe here). There are six brief episodes so far, but you'll want to start back at Episode 1 and click through from there.
Art fag powercouple Slava Mogutin and Brian Kenny are still in love and together five years later, and we hate them. JK! (sort of!) We hope they've got another five years in them, if only because we enjoy the pictures. Incidentally, Slava's got a show opening in NY next week called "Food Chain" at the Envoy Gallery, and he'll be shooting pics of any hot boys who want to strip for him at this official afterparty at the Hose.
He may be a little hard to take sometimes, but James St. James always has some funny headwear. This encounter took place outside the grand opening of Mr. Black in L.A. (via WOW).
"Bad boy" photographer Tyler Shields, who's been smart about getting his name out there via "video portraits" that he throws up on YouTube -- e.g. that one of Zachary Quinto getting milk thrown on him in reverse -- has found another hot gay boy to pose for him. This time it's Matt Dallas of Kyle XY, who he literally drags through the mud and then buries alive. Hot.
Ever wonder what happens to musical theater fags when they move to L.A.? They end up smoking/eating a lot of pot and making YouTube videos featuring big production numbers about smoking/eating pot. This video, from the web series "The Battery's Down," is the latest in a long string of songs and dances about a young actor's fantastical struggles to make it big in New York, and, inevitably, L.A. We love the way gay Laurel Canyon/Silver Lake environs and extras featured in the video, coupled with the whole Black Eyed Peas aesthetic. Also, this makes us want to get a pot club card just so we can see one of these vending machines...
This image comes from a Randy Blue Live cam session with slightly over-tan sweetheart Benjamin Bradley, who got visited by Randy's lapdog Jake during the shoot. As proud as many fags are of their pets, we're not sure we want their cuteness mixed with our porn, no matter how puppy-dog Ben's eyes may be. More after the jump.
Many an urban gay and Moloko fan has been waiting the two years since Overpowered came out for a new Róisín Murphy album, and the wait is almost over. Here she is performing at an event called Burlectric last week at London's SEone club, doing a new song called "Momma's Place" off the forthcoming Demon Lover.
For our inaugural post, we'll choose this oddity from I Dream of Jeannie, in which famed glass closet case Paul Lynde portrayed a fey "nutrition expert" who Jeannie tests by creating a sort of Disney-ish Middle Eastern village where he's taunted by a shirtless swordsman. Cheers, dears.
Oh, gays. You'll never disappoint. And with so much time on your hands out there on the island -- oh wait, should you be in the Meat Rack or something?
