Yo S.F.: Get a Ticket for Mr. and Juanita MORE's Pride Party Now

SF Pride, and the subsequent shame spiral, are upon us, kids. It's time to make some plans, even though your drug-addled lives barely let you plan ahead to tomorrow. MR., the annual kickoff of the weekend, is happening for the last time on Friday, June 22. Get a $15 advance ticket here, and the party's at Monarch (6th and Mission) this year, so it will sell out since the venue's pretty small.

And online advance tickets are just about sold out for Juanita More's annual post-Pride shindig, which is actually two outdoor San Francisco venues this year, on Sunday June 24: the patio Phoenix Hotel, and Jones, with shuttles in between. Get a $25 ticket online before they're gone, or else buy one without the service charge at Sui Generis in the Castro or Retro Fit in the Mission. Update: Online tix are now gone. But there will be some at the door, and at the above locales.

It's that always slightly shameful time of year again, boys! Gay Pride. Oh how we love to love-hate it. Our most of us proud enough? Yes, yes we think so. But let's celebrate our freedoms, and show America that we deserve more, like the freedom to marry each other, and the freedom to traipse down every Main Street in America wearing nothing but a thong and an asymetrical gold mesh tank top. Thank you, America. You've been very patient with us. Martha Wash to Headline Umpteenth Pride in Oakland, With Chaka Khan

Chaka, you've met Martha...We thought Pride season was over, but gay festival mainstay Martha Wash, who's been earning her meal ticket aboard Pride floats for the better part of the last two decades, will be joined by even bigger diva Chaka fucking Khan at this year's Oakland LGBTQ Pride (you know they've got a lot of lesbians over there when they throw in the Q). The fest happens on Sunday, September 5, right after church, and the sissy boys from all over the Bay should be in attendance. [East Bay Express]

We lucked out with the weather yesterday in San Francisco, and so the pretty boys all felt free to wander in topless, or in their underwear. This made us glad.

Updated: One Dead, Two Wounded in Pink Saturday Shooting in S.F.

Photo: Chris RusakPink Saturday, the big pre-Pride hoopla in the Castro, turned violent last night but not in any sort of hate-crime way. An alleged 'personal conflict' resulted in a 19-year-old being shot in the torso and two others being shot in the leg. Other than that, the night was full of revelry and dykes squatting to piss in any dark doorway they could find. [SFist]

UPDATE: The 19-year-old who was shot in the torso, Stephen Powell, was actually shot four times in the chest and is now dead.

This doesn't bode well for future Pink Saturdays in the Castro, but so far the Mayor's Office is saying, ""We don't want to be alarmist without any conclusions about one of the city's greatest celebrations with a historically strong record of safety." [SFGate]
