Justin Vivian Bond Offers Up the Drunk News

Thank the lord, Justin Vivian Bond has returned to YouTube and is doing a very Kiki-esque schtick here about recent events, including Sandy Hook and Jodie Foster's "coming out." We thought we'd never hear her dry delivery of the words "ladies and gentlemen" again. Yay.

'Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?' by Justin Vivian Bond and Taylor Mac

This little Easter-appropriate ditty comes from Mx. Justin Vivian's April 9th Castro Theater show, featuring guest Taylor Mac in a crazy, Munchkins-esque look. Be forewarned, it's like 10 minutes long, but well worth it.

Justin Vivian Bond Stalks Scissor Sisters at Coachella

We learn via Facebook today that Mx. Justin Vivian herself is at Coachella today, stalking the Scissor Sisters (who play a midnight set tonight, fresh off a show at the Warfield in SF last night) and also JD Samson and DJ Sammy Jo. "What flavor lipgloss should I wear? Should I stuff my bra?" JVB asks. We are slightly jealous now that we know Big Art Group is there. Wah wah. It's so crowded! And we're old.

But please take a look back at our pics of hot boys without their shirts on from last year's Coachella.

Justin Vivian Bond Releases New Video for 'American Wedding'

We mentioned earlier this week that Justin Vivian Bond has a new album of original songs coming out April 5 called Dendrophile, and V (don't call her she!) is coming to SF on tour on April 9. Well, here's the first video of the first track off the album, 'American Wedding,' which Mx. J.V.B. says is like "an invocation," and the lyrics are from a poem by Essex Hemphill. It's a little, well, Brechtian? Yeah, sorry... it's much like what we'd expect from the ever edgy Mx. Bond. It's arty. But we're sure some of you will appreciate it.

Justin Vivian Bond to Release New Album, Come to S.F.

April 5 marks the release date for a new album, Dendrophile, from the newly re-monikered Justin Vivian Bond. As we discussed earlier, the artist formerly known as Justin Bond would now like to occupy a mixed gender space, signaling that V might be considering transitioning and doesn't really want to be known as a drag queen anymore (Justin Vivian would prefer the pronoun V from here on out, rather than "she" or "he"). Also, V will go by Mx. Justin Vivian, which is sort of cute.

In support of the album, Mx. Justin Vivian will be returning to San Francisco to the Castro Theater on April 9.
